The Smuthub Standard
At Smuthub, it’s crucial to prioritize quality over quantity when it comes to accepting story submissions. Accepting only high-quality submissions improves user experience, attracts more readers, and works to build a stronger community. By setting high standards and rejecting submissions that don’t meet them, we ensure that The Smuthub continues to provide readers with engaging, well-written content. While it may mean rejecting some submissions, prioritizing quality is ultimately for the authors and readers alike.

General
To publish a story on The Smuthub, you must agree to the following:
- You are at least 18 years of age and are legally able to write, publish, and read erotic content.
- You, as the exclusive creator of the work, hold the copyright and hereby authorize The Smuthub to publish the submitted work, granting them legal publishing rights.
- Your work does not contain any nonpublishable content as defined in our Content Limitations.
- You grant The Smuthub the right to use all legal means available to protect your published work from unauthorized use by other parties.
Story Submission
Your story must reach the follow requirements:
- You must be a member to publish on Smuthub. Join Smuthub for free or Login if you’re already a member.
- Stories must be at least 500 words in length. There is no maximum length.
- Spellcheck and edit your stories for grammatical errors. Spelling and grammar don’t have to be perfect but excessive mistakes will cause a story to be denied as it affects the reading experience.
- Break your story up into reasonably sized paragraphs. Stories are often read on small screen devices where excessively long paragraphs fatigue some readers. Stories with few/no paragraph breaks may be sent back for further editing.
- Text formatting supported in stories is Bold, Italics, Underline, Align Center, and Align Right.
Content Limitations
Your story may not contain the following:
- Sexual activity involving characters under the age of 18 (including but not limited to explicit sexual discussion, voyeurism, exhibitionism, fantasizing, masturbation, and graphic sexualized descriptions, in addition to actual sexual intercourse). Smuthub has always had a strict policy against any under-18 content, and any attempt to violate that policy is grounds for account termination.
- Any material supporting, encouraging, or defending any type of child abuse and/or child exploitation.
- Celebrity stories or fan fiction in which the characters are artificially aged – that is, under 18 years old in reality or in the source material, but made to be over 18 for the story.
- Copyrighted material for which the submitter is not the owner of the copyright, or for which the submitter does not have an explicit license from the copyright owner to publish the work at The Smuthub.
- Bestiality – sexual activity between humans and real-life animals will not be published; human sex with fantasy characters, monsters, furries, anthro, etc. are allowed.
- Sexualized death, “vore”, or “snuff” fiction. Characters are allowed to kill or die in stories, but the death should not be intended as sexually titillating.
- Ravishment/non-consent fantasies in which the “victim” receives no thrill or enjoyment from the acts, or is seriously and/or permanently physically harmed/abused/maimed/killed.
- Sexualized maiming, amputation, and female or male circumcision. We happily accept stories of amputees and their devotees, but do not post stories sexualizing the act of amputation or permanent physical harm.
- Ravishment, nonconsensual, dubiously consensual, or consensual-nonconsensual fantasies involving real-life people, groups/organizations, or copyrighted characters. Smuthub does not publish non-con fanfic.
- Works that promote or glorify hate, intolerance, or violence towards any person or group.
- Works that promote real (non-fictional) prostitution or sex work. These themes and topics may be used freely in fictional stories, but authors may not promote any real-life sex work services or real-life prostitution services.
- Works that advocate for readers to engage in any real-life (non-fictional) activity that is illegal in the United States.
- Works professed to be true about real people. You can tell true stories but names or any other details that might allude to the real subjects must be changed to protect those that may be affected.
- Teasers, partial works, excerpts of offsite works, or any work that appears to be a promotion for other platforms.
- Visual representations (photographs or video) of any real person engaged in “actual sexually explicit conduct” as defined by 18 U.S.C. 2257.
- We reserve the right to reject or remove any content or work that the community finds disruptive (or that causes harm to the community or any member of the community) for any or no reason.
Image guidelines & Limitations
One of Smuthub’s key features is cover images to help with the imagination of the story. But we still maintain a strong brand guideline when it comes to image as we want to encourage healthy sex lives and provide a safe alternative to more graphic options.
- Images may not suggest characters under 18 years of age are involved in sexual situations.
- Images may not depict graphic violence. Bondage, allusions to rough but consensual sex, and fantasy blood such as on the fangs of a vampire are allowed but we will not promote dangerous violence.
- Images must have a minimum width of 400px.
Adverstising

THE FOLLOWING IS NOT ALLOWED OR FORBIDDEN:
- The use of automation (bots) designed to modify your bids;
- Exit blockers;
- Auto downloading content;
- The promotion of Technical Support sites;
- The promotion of ad-blockers;
- The promotion of any tube sites that are not affiliated with our network of Publisher sites;
- The promotion of sites that offer free content that are not affiliated with our network of publisher sites;
- The promotion of political ads including but not limited to campaigns, rallies, or any form of promotion that may sway or influence a voter’s opinion;
- Importing, advertising and/or selling electronic cigarette products in Canada is prohibited;
- Any sites that promote products that will enable users to download;
- Any form of imitation of our network of publisher sites;
- Any ads that imitate parts of our network of publisher sites –
- Colors,
- Thumb sizes,
- Template,
- Layout,
- Deceptive designs, or
- Website elements.
- Any visual representation of sexual activities –
- By any persons, real or imaginary, under the age of 18 years.
- Any content that displays a person portrayed under the age of 18 years and is engaged, or portrayed as engaged, in explicit sexual activities.
- Any campaigns displaying persons/performers who are, or look, underage;
- Use this website (or post any content that) in any way that promotes or facilitates prostitution, solicitation of prostitution, human trafficking, or sex trafficking;
- Use this website to arrange any in-person meetings for purposes of sexual activity for hire;
- Ads that contain racial epithets or ethnic slurs are strictly prohibited;
- Any form of deepfake;
- Any distribution of malicious JavaScript –
- Campaigns with malicious JavaScript will be terminated without refund,
- Campaigns will be terminated,
- Advertisers will be banned, and
- Refund requests will be invalidated.
GOOGLE CHROME:
The following is considered to create an “Abusive Ad Experience” by the browser Google Chrome, and should therefore be considered not allowed and/or forbidden:
- Ads that auto-redirect a page without user action.
- Ads that resemble site warnings or error messages.
- Ads that simulate messages, dialog boxes, or request notifications.
- Ads depicting features that do not work.
- Ads that display close buttons that do anything other than close the element when clicked.
- Ads when clicked anywhere outside the border of the ad lead to an ad landing page.
- Ads that depict misleading calls-to-action.
- Ads that display countdowns are prohibited.
- Ads with play buttons are strictly prohibited.
- Ads with misleading texts and prompts are not permitted.
ONLINE CANNABIS ADVERTISEMENTS:
Advertisers must abide by country and/or state-specific laws on digital advertisement of cannabis and all cannabis-related products.
Please note that country and state laws are subject to change. It is the sole responsibility of advertisers to ensure that their advertisement is in compliance with all regulations based on the targeted state.
ONLINE GAMBLING ADVERTISEMENTS:
Advertisers must abide by country and/or state-specific laws on digital advertisement with gambling.

GENERAL:
- Across all platforms, there is a maximum file size of 300KB.
- Any of the following are subject to a review if they are affecting site performance –
- Campaigns,
- Ads, and
- Landing pages.
- Smuthub reserves the right to pause any ads that affect the network of publisher sites, that we may consider negative, without need for prior notice.
- The following can be paused when they infringe on intellectual property, copyright, patent, and trademark laws:
- Campaign ads, and
- Landing pages
- A surfer must be allowed the option of opting out of additional offers in any subscriptions to a product.
- Mouse-over animation is allowed in non-animation spots; additional data that is above 300KB must be downloadable only upon mouse-overs.
- Members can only have one active account, and only specific members can hold multiple accounts; these members have been permitted to do so by Smuthub.
- To maintain the quality of our bidding platform, ads across multiple campaigns triggered by the same targets on a spot or geo zone will receive the same treatment as a single campaign on the spot giving multiple campaigns no advantage.
- All campaigns must comply with 2257 laws, i.e., ads and landing pages.
- All ads are subject to an approval process; can be approved or deemed as inappropriate.
- Each landing page must open in a new browser window/tab.
YOUNG MODEL OR IMITATION OF UNDERAGE PERSON(S):
- Ads, landing pages, and member areas must be 2257 compliant.
- Valid 2257s and ID must be provided upon request for models and actors/actresses.
- Smuthub has the right to refuse an ad, regardless of 2257’s and ID’s provided if we still feel it negatively affects the user experience across our network of publisher sites.
- Child pornography is strictly prohibited.
SECTION 163.1 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE (R.S.C., 1985, C. C-46) DEFINE CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AS FOLLOWS:
- a photographic, film, video, or other visual representation, whether or not it was made by electronic or mechanical means,
- that shows a person who is or is depicted as being under the age of eighteen years and is engaged in or is depicted as engaged in explicit sexual activity, or
- the dominant characteristic of which is the depiction, for a sexual purpose, of a sexual organ or the anal region of a person under the age of eighteen years;
- any written material, visual representation, or audio recording that advocates or counsels sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offense under this Act;
- any written material whose dominant characteristic is the description, for a sexual purpose, of sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offense under this Act; or
- any audio recording that has as its dominant characteristic the description, presentation, or representation, for a sexual purpose, of sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offense under this Act.
PHARMACEUTICALS:
- Ads may have branded pharmaceutical names and resemble the branded pill’s shape, however, there must be the word *Generic* or a phrase *Better the branded name(s) or *Just like * the branded name(s) visibly stated on the banner.
- Landing Pages must contain the phrase “Consult your doctor”.
CARTOON ADS:
- The use of Disney characters is not permitted.
- Underage characters are strictly prohibited (i.e. underage or young Bart, Little Lisa Simpson, and Baby Maggie, etc.).
- Characters must appear of legal age.
- Incest is strictly prohibited.
- Bestiality is strictly prohibited.
FACEBOOK:
- The use of the term “Facebook” is strictly prohibited.
- Any imitation of the “Facebook” website or brand, color scheme, logo, and text are strictly prohibited.
SUBSTANCES:
- The advertisement of alcohol products is permitted provided the campaign promotes the product alone and does not depict the use of the product in a sexual context.
- In the event that a drug is legal in a specific country or state; advertisers must abide by the laws in the region targeted. Ads are subject to review and removal at any given time.
- Any depiction of consumption, be it alcohol or drugs, is strictly prohibited.
- The depiction of intoxicated persons in sexual acts, be it by alcohol or drugs, is strictly prohibited.
FIREARMS:
Guns can be used in ads (video/Images/GIF) under these conditions:
- not used to acquire sex or in a sexual context, and
- not used in a threatening manner.
ACTS THAT ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED:
- Abuse
- Bestiality
- Blood
- Crying
- Drugs
- Extreme Violence
- Incest
- Rape
- Scatophiliac
- Torture
- Urination
ALL ADS THAT ARE DEFINED AS DECEPTIVE OR MISLEADING WILL NOT BE APPROVED, SPECIFICALLY, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- The context and concept of an ad must be related to the landing page.
- The following must be included in an ad –
- Branding
- Logo
- Text
- The following must not be included in an ad –
- Page numbers
- Time
- Views
- Flashing colors that have a high contrast in comparison to the site must not be used on animated ads. For example, an electric blue background with yellow text and red borders.
THE FOLLOWING ARE MISLEADING:
- Any of the following text is not under any circumstances permitted on ads or banners –
- BANNED
- FORBIDDEN
- ILLEGAL
- Ads or banners that use the term “Facebook” or any imitation of the “Facebook” website or brand; color scheme, logo, and text are not permitted.
- Ads or banners that imitate the publisher’s page (this is not limited to other page elements, icons, logos, or color schemes).
ALL CAMPAIGNS (ADS/LANDING PAGES) ARE SUBJECT TO REVIEW IF DEEMED INAPPROPRIATE:
- All campaigns (ads/landing pages) must be 2257 compliant.
- Campaigns (ads/landing pages) with underage-looking performers are not permitted.
- All ads subject to approval if deemed inappropriate.
1.3 POP-UNDER
THE FOLLOWING IS NOT ALLOWED OR FORBIDDEN:
- Malvertising,
- Scareware,
- Misleading and Fear-mongering ads,
- JS Alerts/Exit Pops,
- Timed redirects,
- Antivirus campaigns,
- Backjacking/looping ads/ or any form of back-button hijack,
- Using Pornhub branding without explicit authorization,
- Sweepstakes,
- Auto-downloading content,
- Auto-playing sound (for mobile pops),
- Vibrations,
- Anything misleading,
- Tech support (and similar) campaigns are strictly forbidden,
- Any distribution of malicious JavaScript is strictly forbidden.
Any use of the above malicious ads can result in pause without notice and freezing of all funds in the account. Furthermore, any Tech Support (and similar) campaigns, or distribution of malicious JavaScript will result in:
- Campaigns will be terminated without refund,
- Advertisers will be banned, and
- Refund requests will be invalid.
THE FOLLOWING IS NOT ALLOWED OR FORBIDDEN FOR VPN ADS:
- Signs: There should be no signs such as, danger, yield, stop, hazard etc.
- Flashing: Avoid flashing signs that suggest someone to an action.
- Title: If the title suggest they need to update for example, Mobile Antivirus update required, the product doesn’t have access to know if this is actually true.
- Creeper: Anything suggesting Pornhub spies, or someone is watching you.
- If you Don’t: if it suggests that if you don’t take an action something bad will happen.
- Our Website: Anything that suggest our site is why you need to download, or using Pornhub Branding to push users to download.
- Auto Download: Anything with an auto download.
- Push: If they ignite the push notification without an action.
- Colors: Avoid red, it usually signifies danger.
